WHO Director-General praises Norway's white paper on global health: Dr Margaret Chan Director-General of the World Health Organization comments on the launch of Norway’s white paper on Global health in foreign and development policy including her commitment to universal health coverage.
WAHO advocates improvement in health coverage in West Africa: Members of West African Health Organization (WAHO), called for continual advocacy and sensitization to deepen political commitment and further consensus building among stakeholders on health issues.
Rockefeller Foundation names a new Managing Director of its health programs: Jeannette Vega, a Chilean medical doctor and a Ph.D. in Epidemiology, will be joining the Foundation in a few months to head the health programs.

Commentary on the challenges confronting the implementation of the National Insurance Authority's Capitation in the Ashanti region: The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) last month started the implementation of the Capitation on pilot basis, and the programme is expected to be rolled out to cover the entire country by the close of this year. The NHIA says it undertook 16 months nationwide public education to get the subscribers, health providers and policy makers to appreciate the need to review the reimbursement policy.
