New Resource! UHC Forward is pleased to announce the addition of the Equitable Health Financing tool
UHC Forward Save the Children UK announce new partnership on Universal Health Coverage
More than 3 billion people globally earn less than $2.50 per day. For many who need access to healthcare, their only option is to pay out of pocket.
To address this critical challenge UHC Forward is pleased to announce the addition of the Equitable Health Financing tool to assist policymakers, practitioners, researchers, civil society and other stakeholders easily navigate the evidence on different health financing methods and their impact on common health systems goals.
By providing targeted information about health financing methods, the goal of the partnership is to ensure that all people have access to the health services they need and that using these services does not put them at risk of financial hardship.
The tool is based on a systematic review of the literature, followed by a thematic analysis that summarizes the impact of seven common health financing mechanisms on five common health system goals: Increase use, improve quality, promote equity, generate revenue and reduce poverty. The tool provides graphical summaries that allow users to assess with a single snapshot: the number of relevant studies available in the literature, the heterogeneity of evidence, where key evidence is lacking and how closely the evidence matches their own context.
